Samantha Galvao is a Boston-based Scenic Artist and budding muralist.

While studying Scenic Art, Design and arts administration at Boston University, Samantha worked with companies such as the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera & VDA — working on productions featured on Broadway & across the US. She has received numerous distinctions such as Boston University’s Daisette Hay McKelvie, Rachel Keebler, and Douglas W. Schmidt awards for academic excellence and prowess in design and scenic artistry.

Following the start of the 2020 Covid Epidemic, Samantha joined &Walsh, a female-founded and renowned creative agency specializing in branding, advertising, art direction, and more. She honed her skills as a creative producer — focusing on agency efficiency & workflow, project management across photo, video, and branding projects, copywriting, client collaboration, and more. She also acted as a primary internship mentor, helping interns develop their skills and grow within the company. Through the agency, she has worked with clients such as Slack, Parle Agro, Geltor, and Bombas.

In March of 2022, Samantha said goodbye to her &Walsh team, and all general living comforts as she left to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail, one of the world’s longest hiking trails. Over the next 5 months, she hiked 2,200 miles form Georgia to Maine — completing the trail and returning back to civilization!

Now back in Boston, Samantha has set her sites back on scenic art, private commissions, and a new love of murals.
